Introduction
Smart Vault keeps your environment variables and credential files in one encrypted place, organized the way you deploy.
What Smart Vault does
- Stores environment variables and secure files for each environment of each app.
- Controls who can read or change them, with roles and per-environment permissions.
- Keeps a version history of every variable, with compare and rollback.
- Delivers them to laptops with the CLI, and to pipelines with API keys.
How it is organized
Everything lives in an organization. An organization has applications, each application has environments, and each environment has its own variables and secure files. See Core concepts.
Next steps
- Quick start: store your first secrets and pull them into a project.
- CLI: download variables on your machine or in CI.
- API keys: give a pipeline read access to one environment.
